A privately owned company located on a 720 acre parcel in Northfield, WI that is actively restoring native prairie, savanna, and woodlands. Our goal is to enhance the wildlife habitat by continuously adding native flora to the site and removing all invasive species. Additionally, we establish native seed production fields to encourage the distribution of native plants within the site as well as in other areas across the state. On site there are two extensive lakes, 20-30 acres each, that provide aquatic habitat and vegetation to our expanded ecosystem range. Our site has year-round beauty that will only grow with our continued restoration.

OUR MISSION

It is our mission to re-establish the native Wisconsin forest savannah's, grasslands, and prairie ecosystems of the driftless region; to create an environment where native plants and animals are given the opportunity to return to their former vitality and beauty; to establish a sanctuary people may visit and explore to learn about how we can positively interact and impact our environment.

The designed landscape is a intricately woven combination of art and science. Native plants are chosen based on a science of ecosystems, soil conditions, sun considerations, and wildlife benefits. That combination creates a palette that is used when designing our specific areas.
